BOOTCAMP LA is a fun, well designed, outdoor fitness program held at the world famous La Brea Tar Pits, George C. Page Museum Park 5801 Wilshire Blvd. between Fairfax and La Brea. See Map
Classes are held mornings at 6:00 am, 7:15am or 8:30am, and for those of you who just can’t seem to get out of bed in the morning, we have an “After Work” Boot Camp – just for you, starting at 6:15PM!
If you are one of those people who always tries to get the closest parking space available, this program is deﬁnitely for you. If the idea of working out gets you out of breath, it’s time to enlist. If you are an athlete and you are looking for a new challenge this program is for you too. Classes are structured to meet everyone’s physical abilities. See Schedule. It is a program for men and women of all ages, sizes, shapes and ﬁtness abilities. Everyone is encouraged to do their best. We all need to exercise, so you might as well be outside having fun and laughing instead of being bored to death in the gym and remember you don’t have to be in shape to join! All you have to do is bring a good attitude and a willingness to try your best! All BOOTCAMP LA instructors will motivate you in positive way to do your best. LET’S GET MOVING!
During Boot Camp all recruits will be doing stretches, weightlifting using dumbbells, calisthenics (push-ups, sit-ups, ﬂutter kicks, lunges, medicine balls, circuit training, running drills, obstacle courses and whatever other surprises we have in store for that day. We do our best to make the workouts fun and challenging at the same time.The more effort you put into the class, the more results you will get out of it! By the end of your 4-week adventure you will feel great, look great and have made new friends who will have gone through the same body changing experience you have.You will also have learned a lot about how to change your eating habits to lose weight faster than you ever have before!
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO BOOT CAMP?
You should wear comfortable clothes and a good pair of running shoes. Dress warm for the morning classes (layers), but get ready to sweat. We also recommend you bring a towel and a bottle of water for water breaks!
I HAVE NEVER DONE ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE. WILL I MAKE IT?
Yes, we do not ask anyone to do more than they can do safely. We take the recruit from where they are physically, to the best that they can do. We have seen great results from people who were once couch potatoes and are now in the best shape of their lives.
HOW MUCH WEIGHT WILL I LOSE?
The answer is up to you. The average amount of weight you will lose is 7-8 pounds of fat per month. The members that have the greatest success, are the ones that worked hard and adjusted their eating habits. Remember, losing weight isn’t the scale by which we are judged; it is the way we look and feel about our bodies that is most important. In Boot Camp you will learn to love your body and treat it the way it should be treated, with respect.
WHAT SHOULD I DO WHEN I COMPLETE BOOT CAMP?
Fitness is not a one time, get ﬁt quick, deal. Fitness is a way of life. The quality of the life you lead is up to you. After you complete Boot Camp, you will want to keep going. Most Boot Campers join the next class and really start to challenge themselves, this time with your new improved lighter, quicker, stronger body.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T SHOW UP?
Aside from the obvious loss of a great workout; your team may have to do the extra push-ups or sit-ups that you were supposed to do. If you do not call us, we will have to assume you are oversleeping, and we might have to go and workout in front of your apartment building or house and wake up all your neighbors until you get dressed and come out to your team.
